A designshop Update

designshop is nearing its 10-year anniversary. Since its opening in 2013, a great amount of change has taken place. What began as a small two and then three-person architecture firm has now grown into an open design studio of nine designers. Today, our team works eagerly to bring our client’s dreams to life. Through the years, designshop has chosen not to specialize in any one type of work.

Instead, we value the challenge of taking on new project types. Thus, our expertise is not in any specific scope of work, but rather in the process of researching and learning a specific project type to then create a unique design solution specific to the needs of our client. Our experience as a studio has grown significantly in the past few years. Building upon the 20+ years of experience each partner had prior to starting designshop.

Our services have now expanded, including in-house interior design, master planning, and urban redevelopment. We have completed a variety of project types including single-family housing, multifamily housing, mixed-use buildings, commercial retail, and office spaces, industrial plant improvements, retail, and a number of hospitality projects.

Designshop has quickly evolved and with that our office has grown, filling the space we have. Our office on South Main in downtown Memphis began with three employees and room to grow. Today, there is most likely a designer working in every corner.

Together, we work tirelessly to see our clients’ vision come to life. At designshop, we value the creative process and the discovery of innovative solutions. We create unique solutions for each project we pursue. We are passionate about creating meaningful architecture because we believe it has the ability to cultivate meaningful relationships. Further, we see our clients as some of our closest friends and bringing their vision to life motivates us in our everyday work.
