Memphis Business Journal Features designshop - Projected Growth for Architecture Firms in 2022

existing conditions of 18 South Main

Featured in the Memphis Business Journal, designshop partner, Scott Guidry, discusses the challenges and successes that resulted from the COVID-19 Pandemic. While the pandemic presented many difficulties for us to navigate as a firm, designshop now finds itself in a much better position today than it was before.

Throughout the pandemic, the greatest challenge for designshop was dealing with material and labor shortages. It became difficult to keep a project moving forward when facing these challenges. Thus, favorably navigating relationships between clients and contractors became the key to the success of a project.

In addition to supply chain issues and labor shortages, designshop had to re-evaluate the projects we were seeking. Prior to the pandemic, designshop focused primarily on retail and multi-family housing projects. However, due to a decrease in projects available within the retail and multi-family housing sector, we were forced to rethink our scope of work.
